Welcome to the Department of Languages, Literature and Cultural Studies. The Department consists of three academic strands namely literature, linguistics and communication and offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in these fields. The philosophy that literature, language and communication are central to the creation of a tolerant society in a global and multicultural context informs our approach and attitude to issues and challenges confronting humanity in the 21st Century. We also aim to nurture individuals who are creative, innovative and apply their research skills and academic competence and knowledge of literature, linguistics and communication in understanding the diverse challenges of the contemporary society.
